Santé Natural Shampoo Care

Santé Natural products are designed for your specific needs, such as dry and damaged hair from hair dyes or perms, fine hair, gray hair and hair loss. Our products' formulations are based on traditional herbal remedies and use the higuest quality natural ingredients available. They are gentle and very effective.

Our Beginnings...

Doña Dolores Acosta, a very prominent healer in the state of Guerrero, used to go to the Sonora market in Mexico City once a month to buy herbs, candles, and other items that she needed to make her herbal remedies and thus heal her patients.

While on these trips to the city, she would get together with other healers from all over Mexico. They would talk about their patients, about the different herbs healing powers and interchange remedies.

A nephew of Doña Dolores who was a chemical engineer and lived in the city was the one who would take her shopping for herbs and take her to meet her friends during her stay. He would listen to the healers talk passionately about their remedies and what was the best way to heal their patients physically and spiritually.

It was in one of her many visits to the city while gathering with the other healers that the subject turned to disillusionment as they discussed how the traditional knowledge of herb remedies and how to cure with them was getting lost  as our culture progressed and we moved to a more rapid pace in life. Their patients now wanted something fast and easy to apply. 

Another topic of discussion frequent in their gatherings was about how to maintain a healthy scalp for men and have a beautiful hair for women.  They came up with the term “Aceite de Oso” which literally translates as bear oil. This term was used for a special mix of olive, castor, almond oil and other essential oils.

This mix was used by our ancestors to keep a healthy scalp and strong and silky hair. Although it contains no animal product or by-product, it was call “aceite de oso” because its properties resemble the bear oil used by the northern people to keep their skin and scalp strong and healthy despite their extreme weather.

Doña Dolores asked her nephew if he could come up with a product containing the “aceite de oso” and that it was easy to use and that people would be able to incorporate in their daily personal routine.  It was then, more than 25 years ago that Santé Natural with “aceite de oso”, the first ethnobotanic natural shampoo was created. Since then Santé Natural has position its product as leaders in the natural market.

Doña Dolores’ knowledge, experience combined with the technicality of her nephew took them to create the first line of high quality products specifically designed to target a personal hair need using traditional herbal remedies or as she put it effective remedies for your hair

Doña Dolores is not longer with us, but her teachings, knowledge and passion for herbs and herbal remedies and her spirit to preserve our culture and traditions continue to transcend from generation to generation in all Santé Natural products

Why the name Santé Natural?

Santé means health in French. Doña Dolores was a very passionate lady and a Canadian friend that she had used to called her “femme de santé” which means “lady of health” hence the name of Santé
